An Intensive two day workshop offering students the chance to explore the world of all things voiceover. The course will take place in a professionally equipped studio, you will be tutored by one of the countries most prolific voiceover artist and one of the top sound producers in Scotland. This course is suitable to students age 18+ who are interested in finding out more about voiceover techniques.

Donald Pirie 

Donald Pirie has one of the most recognisable and most used voices in Scotland. For years he has been the main, male voice on STV and BBC Radio Scotland and is also the voice on Channel 4's popular gameshow 15 to 1. Recent corporate clients have included AXA, Microsoft, S1 Homes and Vodafone. 

Donald has the flexibility to voice anything from adverts and corporates to talking books and animations. He trained at one of the world's top drama schools, LAMDA and has performed in theatres across the country from the Old Vic to the Royal Lyceum. For corporates, adverts, E-Learning, narration, talking books, IVR, explainer videos, ADR, show openings, animations, podcasts, continuity and anything else that needs a Scottish Voice Over - Donald Pirie is the perfect choice. 

Students can only attend the advanced course after completing the beginners course. This course will be supportive, challenging, professional and provide you with a fully rounded understanding of the industry. Students of the course will leave with a professionally edited and recorded radio advert that can be used to start looking for work and taking your first steps in the business.

Borja Alcalde 

With a solid background in engineering, filming and sound design, Borja started up Wav Lab nine years ago, initially running the business from his studio at home.Within the first year, Wav Lab was recognised as a quality and innovative example of creative practice, winning the Deutsche Bank Award for 2011. Wav Lab offers a creative video production and multimedia localization services and have a reputation for originality, fast turn around, excellent customer service and competitive pricing. We have worked with some of the world’s leading brands including Yahoo, Microsoft, Paypal, Swisscom, NHS, and Cima, localizing their projects in over 20 different languages. Since then, using a mixture of forward thinking, quality production, personalised customer service and a big dollop of humour, Borja continues to lead the business on from strength to strength.  

Borja is also running a creative video production, www.borja.film, and a 3D modelling business flying drones, www.3dvirtualview.xyz. He enjoys time outdoors and that made him start his latest venture, becoming a qualified Yoga teacher after spending 6 weeks learning yoga in the Himalayas. Look out for his classes!
